Chief Operating Officer, Aon Benfield
Baljit Dail is Chief Executive Officer of Aon Consulting's international businesses and global practices, and COO for Aon Benfield. He also has held the position of Chief Information Officer for Aon Corporation, Head of Global Offshoring for Aon Corporation and COO for Aon Consulting since joining the company in 2005.
Mr. Dail is an executive with a range of experience in several industries, including financial services, telecommunications, high-tech and retail. Under his leadership, Aon Consulting has gone from negative organic growth and industry trailing margins to organic growth in line with peers and industry leading margins. These efforts have resulted in Aon Consulting being named Best Employee Benefits Consulting firm by the readers of Business Insurance from 2006-2008.
In addition, Mr. Dail was integral to the acquisition of reinsurance broker Benfield and is driving the integration of Aon Benfield as COO for the combined group.
Mr. Dail is a former principal with the management consultancy McKinsey and Company. He also served as vice president of strategic planning for Starwood Hotels and Resorts, and held a number of senior management positions at JP Morgan and British retailer Marks and Spencer. He began his career in the Technology Group at Ford Motor Company.
Mr. Dail earned a degree in computer science from the University of Warwick, in Warwick, UK.
He serves on the Board’s System Planning and Audit & Finance Committees. He joined the Midwest ISO Board in January 2009. He is also a member of the Mayor of Chicago’s Technology Advisory Council.
